Athletes skating with the Clarington Speed Skating Club have the option of renting skates from the club or purchasing their own. The club has a number of types of speed skates for new skaters to rent if that is their choice. These skates are rented on a first come first serve basis. Skaters often prefer to rent skates for the first year while trying out the sport, rather than incurring the expense of purchasing skates.

Skaters interested in purchasing their own skates can do so by contacting various companies that offer speed skating equipment for sale. Go to the link on the left "About Speed Skating - Organizations" for links to the various companies. Skate prices start at approximately $400.00 and increase from there.
